Dance to Unite, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that utilizes dance and guided conversations about values as a vehicle to teach and to celebrate cultural diversity.

Dance to Unite program has partnered with 18 after-school agencies in NYC ever since October 2009.

Dance to Unite has served over 2,500 underserved students with its free for students, weekly, full school year-round program by 2024.

In 2022 Dance to Unite expanded to serve students during the day in addition to the after-school hours, In July 2024 Dance to Unite expanded to serve students during the summer break, In October 2024 Dance to Unite expanded to serve in NYC’s borough of Queens.

In the current school year 2024-25, Dance to Unite is partnering with 14 after-school programs, providing 16 classes a week from October to June, full school year-round, serving TBA underserved students who reside in Manhattan's Lower East Side, Chinatown, Brooklyn, Queens and the Bronx.
In addition, in July 2024, Dance to Unite served 57 students with a special summer program.

  • Dance to Unite classes are free of charge for students.

  • Dance to Unite students are all underserved and majority students of color.

  • Dance to Unite uplifts its students through cultural, arts and SEL (Social Emotional Learning) education and physical activity through dance.

  • Dance to Unite classes are offered on a weekly basis, one hour a week, from October to June.

  • Dance to Unite serves students in elementary and middle school.

  • Dance to Unite weekly classes are complemented with one special workshop per class, throughout the school year, that is taught by diverse professional guest artists.

  • Dance to Unite classes culminate with an end of the school year dance performance complemented by a presentation of the 13 Steps to Unity that is performed by our students.

  • Dance to Unite provides a free training in The Dance to Unite Teaching Method to aspiring teachers through internship programs.

  • Dance to Unite internship can lead to a paid position as a Dance to Unite Teaching Artist in NYC’s public schools.
